Free Enjoyable Things You Can Do During Lockdown

This list will help you find more Enjoyment in Lockdown

A list of things which will help you survive and even enjoy lockdown.

It is not news that 2020 plans have been turned upside down, scrunched up and thrown out of the window because of the lockdown. Although the majority of our plans to revel and enjoy ourselves this year are not going ahead – it does not mean we have to give up on enjoyment.

We have collated a list of fun and free stuff you can do to help pass time, survive and enjoy the current 2020 lockdown. Virtual pub quiz

1. Virtual pub quiz

Just because lockdown means you can’t visit the pub and have a go at winning the all famous Friday Night Quiz at your local, doesn’t mean you have to let your expertise go to waste.
Using free video communication platforms such as Zoom, you can easily create meetings and invite all your friends and family to the virtual pub quiz. Its great fun, a nice distraction from the outside world and a great way to stay in contact with friends and family, it is also a great excuse to have a few beers.

Organise teams amongst yourselves and choose a day of the week which suits you all. A team will volunteer to make the questions for the first quiz, reading the questions out, checking teams answers and announcing the winners at the end. Oh, and the winners will have to make the questions and host the quiz for the following week’s quiz!

2. Karaoke night

As much as we all say we don’t like an audience or don’t want to embarrass ourselves when it comes to karaoke all our fears disappear. There is nothing like the moment of having your friends cheer you on, sing along with you, while you try and decipher song lyrics of a TV from the ’80s, partially sighted after a few pints. Unfortunately, the lockdown has made our karaoke nights seem like an unreachable memory.
However, I have good news for you, AirConsole is an app which lets you virtually meet up with all your friends from your home, and have a great sing-along together. You use your phone as a mic and connect your app to your TV, reeling off the song lyrics.
This is a great way for you and your friends to learn new songs and keep them vocal chored toned and ready for the first trip back to the bars!

3. Play board games

It may seem obvious, been stuck indoors, TV programs limited, lockdown feeling as if its lasting forever… play board games?
Board games are a great way to pass the time, bring out everyone’s competitive side and enjoy the increased tensions amongst the family.
But are you tired of playing the same board games over and over again?
Or maybe you lent out your monopoly set just before lockdown? Convenient for who you lent it to, no so convenient for you.
Tabletopia is a website which offers a huge range of different board games both free and premium, so you won’t get bored. The site also lets you play with friends online, so even if you don’t live with them you still get accuse your loved ones of cheating and playing unfair!

4. Solve a mystery

Do you and your friends ever go into deep conspiracy mode, think you have discovered the answers to the universe, while surrounded by empty pint glasses? Or you just think you are great at solving things… A Redditbecause mystery is a perfect task for you, creating thought-provoking enjoyment and the sense of community, it may even offer a great reward at the end.

Reddit has online communities such as Reddit’s Unresolved Mysteries, which is open to all to swap ideas and combined information to solve old cases or missing treasures. This is a great way to pass the time and form purpose for you and friends during the lockdown.

5. Paint with Bob Ross

If you have ever had the privilege of watching a Bob Ross painting tutorial, you know it is a therapeutical, relaxing experience filled with joy.
Bob Ross painting tutorials have been renowned for the perfect watching for the worst of hangovers, however, during lockdown they serve a second purpose, learning how to paint.
Bob is a great artist and offers 403 paint along with Bob tutorials on YouTube. His calm and relaxing voice and imperfect approach to painting allow even the most novice person to produce a fridge worthy piece of art, for the whole family to enjoy.

With all this spare time at home, it forms a great opportunity to cook more things from scratch. Not only is this more enjoyable, rewarding and healthy, but it can also save you a lot of money in the long run if you decide to take what you have learnt forward.
